Memories.

Have you ever purchased an item of clothing that when you put on, instantly reminded you of your past? I had a flashback with this new blouse I purchased from Jacob:

Blouse: Jacob Sleeveless Bow Blouse (White, size XS).
Sweater: LOFT Boyfriend Cardigan (Olive, size XS).
Trousers: Club Monaco Ursula Pant (Navy, size 0).
Shoes: Ann Taylor Factory Signature Pumps (Porcini, size 6).
Watch: Michael Kors Runway Watch (Silver).
Ring: Le Chateau

I actually didn't try the blouse on before buying so I had no idea that it would evoke such a strong reaction on my part until I got home. What exactly did this blouse remind me of? My days as a roulette dealer. We didn't actually wear a black tie like this, it was actually a red bow-tie, but for some reason this exact outfit overwhelmed me with old memories. Maybe I wouldn't have had the same reaction if the first time I had worn it the bottoms weren't black trousers, but as I finished tying the bow and looked at myself in the mirror, I couldn't help remember those days when I was spinning the wheel, watching the players try to figure out some sort of roulette strategy and then promptly taking everyone's chips away. ;) By far, the best summers that I can remember.

Do you have an item of clothing that reminds you of your past as soon as you slip it on?

P.S. A quick note about these new Club Monaco pants. I actually exchanged these for the bottoms worn here because I was having too much trouble finding shoes to wear with the dark khaki-colored bottoms. But I adore these new trousers. They are reminiscent of the Theory Frayne Pants, but I like the fit of these better. They also come in black but neither can be found on the ClubMonaco.com website(s) just yet. Regular price is $88, and they run TINY. I am wearng them in a 0, because I couldn't button up the 00. Great fit, with both front pockets and rear besom pockets. The only thing I wish it had that are missing are belt loops. But it does have a satin-like waistband which almost makes up for it. If you find these at your local CM store, they are definitely worth a try.
