I fell a little bit behind in my EOTDs. Following an unofficial reorganization at work, I find myself incredibly busy and working longer hours than last year. As much as I am grateful for the work, I am not too impressed with the hours I am putting in (the partner has a different take, of course). A younger version of myself would have happily labeled myself as a workaholic, but an older, wiser me knows better. I have attended far too many funerals in the past year (current count, six!), and with the new puppy who is crazy excited to see me when I finally get home, I know that work isn't everything. And it shouldn't be. No one lays on their deathbed wishing they had worked more. On the other hand, I realize that I am still not firmly established in my career, and at this point it is somewhat of a necessary evil to put in the longer hours. So it has all come down to a balancing act that I have yet to master.
And now back to this post. I have been on a hard search for a soft draped pant, and I finally found the perfect one in this Theory Korene Silk Pant. I have so many outfit ideas for these pants, but alas, I will leave you with only one for now. I was also considering this Joe's Jeans Vivian Pant, but having a inseam of 31" and a zipper on the bottom of the pant hem, I knew this was a no-go. A 31" is fine for a straight leg pant, but these being tapered, it would have resulted in far too much bunching and an expensive hemming alteration. Luckily, these Theory pants worked out. They are light, with the perfect drape, inseam (27") and 12" leg opening making them not too baggy. Yes, definitely pricey as they are 100% silk georgette, but they are luxurious. I prefer the soft, slouchy pants without the banded hem so they are more appropriate for work. With the banded hem, they look far too much like jogging pants.
