I'm constantly searching my closet for those light, airy pieces that will keep me cool for those hot, humid summer days. Sheer fabrics, such as chiffon, are a great choice for keeping it light. But can sheer be appropriate for work? With the appropriate accompanying pieces, it can. Take for example this chiffon blouse with plaid/check pattern from Mango:
Plaid or checked pattern can sometimes be seen as quite casual, but in this case, because it is in a sheer fabric, it gives it a more dressed up feel. It probably goes without saying, but of course, a camisole or tank should be worn underneath as not to show any undergarments.
One way to make this blouse appropriate for the workplace is to keep the rest of the outfit very conservative, such as a full suit:
Mango checked shirt / H&M blazer / Theory Max C pants / Calvin Klein shoes / Lauren by Ralph Lauren handbag / Kate Spade watch / Diane von Furstenberg belt
Or, you can choose to show off the blouse by keeping it simple. In this case, I matched it with white to give it a fresh look that's great for summer:
Mango button shirt / Reiss stretch skirt / Zara shoes / Cole Haan Linley bag / Coach engraved necklace / Kate Spade bow bangle
