If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you might be aware that I've made more than several unsuccessful attempts at finding the perfect peplum top. I even went as far as making two prototypes made from ponte hoping that with my own personal adjustments, I could finally get one that was flattering for my body-type. Unfortunately, no matter what kind of adjustments I made, it was just awful. The combination of a short and thick waist with a voluminous hem resulted in a  pretty horrific visual. I had pretty much given up all hope until I came across this flared top at Club Monaco. Not quite peplum, but it has a slightly flared hem that is reminiscent of peplum.

And finally, we have a winner!

The top has just enough shape so I don't look like a box unsuccessfully pretending to be an hour glass. Also, I feel like that because the flare isn't as pronounced as a full peplum, I can wear this long after the peplum trend has passed, or at least tuck it into some high-waisted skirt. It also comes in several beautiful colors along with the stripe version I'm wearing: white, yellow, orange, black and blue. See them here.
