Tucked away.

These all black outfits are probably all starting to look the same, aren't they? But see? That's the greatest thing about them, you can wear the same piece over and over, and most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference. LOL.

Top: Ann Taylor Cross-over blouse (Black)(similar).
Trousers: Theory (Black)(similar).
Shoes: LAUREN by Ralph Lauren Adena Pumps (Black)(similar).
Rings: Topshop/Aldo.
Belt: Ann Taylor (Black polka-dot calf-hair).
Necklace: Dogeared (silver) (love this).

When I was styling this outfit, I tried numerous variations as to how I would wear this blouse. The first image I had in my head was that it would be completely tucked into these trousers. However, even after all these years of trying to tuck in my shirt, most often, I'm still unhappy with the way it looks. Yes, tucking in my shirt looks more professional, and lends itself  to cleaner, more minimalistic lines but my short waist makes for odd-looking proportions, particularly with pants. So I ended up doing the little mullet-tuck with a belt, so my waist was at least somewhat defined, yet still (sort of) elongated. Although, it still looks like I'm slouching, doesn't it? I promise, I'm not.

Are there any particular styling ideas that you shy away from? Why?
